How Does It Work?
The process of laser cutting is relatively simple.
We create your design in a computer-aided design (or CAD) vector program, then upload that vector file to the cutting machine. Then the machine takes care of the rest, focusing the beam onto a flat surface where it burns, melts, or vaporizes along the cutting line that you created on the computer.

Every mark you make with a laser cutter is predetermined in a CAD computer program where you will plan the design. So you don’t have to worry about letting your hand slipping and ruining a whole piece (or injuring yourself).
Laser cutting also allows you to create small diameter holes that you wouldn’t be able to accomplish with most traditional techniques. This opens up a whole new world of complex and intricate designs that you would never even attempt with other cutting methods.
Edge Quality
Another benefit of having a laser cutter is the edge quality. Because normal blades wear down as you use them, the edge quality on your cuts can vary from the beginning of a project to the end, or from project to project.
Lasers never wear down and make each mark precisely, so you’ll end up with a design that you made yourself, but looks like it was designed and created professionally!
Cutting Techniques
Vector Cutting
Vector cutting is the most common technique, making a full cut through the material following the cutting line that you made in the CAD file.
Vector Engraving
Vector engraving only makes a surface-level cut, drawing or burning a design onto your material, but not cutting all the way through to the other side. This is great for adding in details and drawings to your design.
Raster Engraving
Raster engraving differs from vector engraving because it allows you to vary the width of your engraving lines, so you can produce wider fonts and designs, as opposed to vector engraving which only allows a single width line.
